Calque edits photos and video on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what stays there and what does not.

Your photos and videos never leave your device

Everything you import, every edit you make and every file you export is processed on your iPhone or iPad. There is no Calque server, no cloud backup and no upload — not for editing, not for the automatic cutout, not for smart cut, not for exporting. If a file leaves your device it is because you shared it yourself.

Calque asks for two photo-library permissions, and both stay on your device. Permission to add to your library lets it save what you export. Permission to read your library lets it edit the videos you pick in place, straight from where they already are, instead of copying them into the app first — that is what makes importing a long clip take a moment rather than a minute. Calque reads only the items you pick; nothing is scanned, indexed or uploaded. If you decline read access, importing still works: Calque copies the items you pick instead, which is slower but otherwise identical.

What is stored on your device

• Your projects and imported media, in the app's own storage.
• A usage log, written locally as plain text. It records which features were used and when — for example that an export finished, or that the paywall was shown — so problems can be diagnosed. It is capped at 1 MB and 7 days, whichever comes first, and then the oldest entries are deleted. It is never transmitted.
• A random install identifier, on that log's entries. It is generated by the app, is not Apple's advertising or vendor identifier, is not tied to you or your device, and does not survive reinstalling the app.
• Your subscription status, in the device keychain, so the app knows you have paid when you are offline. It stores the identifier of the transaction that granted it and when it expires. It contains no payment details.

None of the above is readable by us. It lives on your device.

Purchases

Subscriptions are sold by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles payment and gives Calque only whether a valid subscription exists and when it expires. We never see your card, your name, your address or your Apple Account.

Adverts on the free tier

The free tier may show full-screen adverts after an export finishes. These are served by Google AdMob, and this is the only part of Calque that sends anything off your device.

To serve and measure an advert, Google may collect device and app information such as your device type, coarse location derived from your IP address, and advertising identifiers. Google acts as an independent controller of that data. What it collects and why is described in Google's own policies:

You are asked before any of that is personalised. iOS shows a tracking permission prompt the first time an advert would appear. If you decline — or never answer — Calque requests non-personalised adverts only, and your advertising identifier is not shared. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Subscribing removes adverts entirely. On a paid subscription Calque never requests an advert and never reads your advertising identifier, so nothing in this section applies to you.

What Calque never does

• No account, no sign-in, no email address collected.
• No analytics, crash-reporting or attribution SDK.
• No selling or sharing of personal data with anyone, for any purpose.
• No advertising identifier read on the paid tier.
• No reading of your photo library beyond the items you pick.
• No secrets, tokens or personal data written to the log.

Children

Calque is not directed at children under 13, and no advert served in it is personalised on a device where tracking has not been permitted.

Your choices

• Stop the log: deleting the app removes it, along with everything else Calque stored.
• Stop personalised adverts: decline the tracking prompt, or turn tracking off in Settings.
• Stop adverts entirely: subscribe to Calque Pro.

Because nothing about you is held on a server, there is no account to export or delete — removing the app is complete deletion.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your device, the app will say so before the change takes effect.
